State Fair of Texas Bids Farewell to the Iconic Log Ride
The State Fair of Texas has announced that its beloved Log Ride will be retiring after the 2025 Fair. Fairgoers are invited to visit the Midway and "take your final ride" to share one last splash before the iconic attraction closes permanently on October 19.
Forty Years of Texas Thrills and Memories
Big Tex welcomed the Log Ride in 1986; it has since been a treasured part of the Fair experience for four decades. The attraction quickly became a must-do for visitors seeking both a thrill and a refreshing break on a warm Texas afternoon, cementing itself in the shared traditions and memories of countless families and friends.
“The Log Ride has been a cherished part of the State Fair experience for decades,” said Rusty Fitzgerald, senior vice president of midway operations. “As we look to the future of the Fair, we want to honor the role it has played in bringing joy and excitement to our guests. This season, we encourage everyone to take one last ride and celebrate the memories made along the way.”
Though the Log Ride's chapter is closing, the State Fair of Texas remains committed to its mission of celebrating all things Texan by providing new and exciting experiences. Plans for future attractions and improvements to the Midway will be shared at a later date.
