Southern Living just released the 50 Best Beach Vacations in the South 2025 and Texas has two coastal towns that made the list.
#21 Port Aransas, Texas
Located on an 18-mile stretch of beaches known as Mustang Island, this quaint little coastal fishing village is the perfect destination for deep-sea fishing or delicious seafood. Enjoy a day on the beach on a golf cart or bicycle and have a cool drink at one of several dive bars like Shorty's Place and the annual Texas SandFest April 25-27.
This is a fisherman's paradise when it comes to fishing but there's more to do than just fish, Port Aransas is the perfect place to watch dolphins swimming all over the island. There are even a couple of exciting dolphin excursions that are well worth checking out like the Scarlet Lady Dolphin Cruise or Dolphin Dock Tours. Beach lovers can learn how to make a sandcastle from a local sculpture artist hunt for seashells or visit a sea turtle rehabilitation center, Amos Rehabilitation Keep.
#45 Rockport, Texas
This charming coastal town has everything you need from birdwatching, fishing, or just a relaxing day at the beach. Fulton Beach Road is perfect for walking with spectacular views of the beach and beautiful scenery.
One of the cleanest beaches in Texas is known as Blue Wave Beach one of only 3 on the Gulf Coast with tropical vibes, blue water, and a sandy beach to sink your toes in.
Fulton Pier and Rockport Pier offer visitors great places to fish or explore, the Rockport Pier extends out past the shoreline.
