Two Favorite Texarkana Parks to Help Celebrate National Picnic Day April 23
Spring is here! Time for those outdoor activities and time for a picnic. Afterall, Monday is National Picnic Day April 23, 2018 but why wait until Monday to celebrate with the weekend right around the corner. There are several great locations around Texarkana where you and your family can enjoy spending some quality time together. One of my favorite spots has become Bringle Lake Park because of its natural beauty, walking trails, and the peaceful serenity of the lake.
Bringle Lake Park
With several covered picnic tables situated on the grounds complete with an iron grill for cooking and even and old-fashioned water pump. Families can enjoy the nature trail, playground, bike trails, fishing piers and a nature boardwalk nearby as well. They even have a huge covered picnic area for family reunions or parties. If you want a relaxing time away from home Bringle Lake Park is the perfect spot for family gatherings or to just hang out with friends.

Another one of my favorite spots tp have a picnic in Texarkana is Spring Lake Park, a local favorite for many years. When I was a small child, I can't think of how many times my parents took me there for a picnic, family reunion or birthday. If trees could talk, those tall pine trees would tell of countless stories of families who have gathered there over the years and still do today. With three covered pavilions for large family gatherings, newly expanded walking trails, new playground equipment, Splash Pad for families, disc golf course and a beautiful spring fed lake stocked with plenty of fish. You can't go wrong choosing this location for National Picnic Day or any special occasion.
Grady T. Wallace Park and Bobby Ferguson Park also made the list of favorite places to have a picnic in Texarkana. Do you have a personal favorite?
