[UPDATE]
Kamauri Butler turned himself in overnight and was booked into the Bi-State Jail.
Original Story:
Texarkana, Texas police are looking for one more suspect and a Saturday evening shooting that took place near Spring Lake Park.
Police initially received a 911 call of shots fired from the area of Lynda Street near Spring Lake Park on Saturday evening, shortly thereafter they received a 911 call that a Texas A&M University Texarkana baseball player at George Dobson Field had been struck by a bullet. It didn't take them long to put two and two together.
The incident on Lynda Street, where the disturbance initially occurred, is where the shots were fired. It occurred about 400 yards from where the player was struck at George Dobson Field.
Officers arrested Yankeengea Smith (49) for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine and Ecstasy pills), Nathan Moore (19) for Tampering with Evidence and Possession of Marijuana, and Marcell Beaver (19) for Possession of Marijuana.
Felony warrants were initially issued for Kamauri Butler, age 17, for aggravated assault, and Demarco Banks, 20 years old, for deadly conduct. An update early this morning shows that Demarco Banks turned himself in overnight and was booked into the Bi-State jail. The search is still on for Kamauri Butler.
TTPD reported on its Facebook Page that the condition of the baseball player is stable.
