Great News, UAHT Spring Enrollment Increases Over 10%
Here is some great news, the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana had a nice increase in their student enrollment for the Spring 2024 Semester. The university welcomed 1,183 students this semester.
This makes it a 10.4% increase from last spring. Not only that it's the largest spring enrollment since 2020.
UAHT Chancellor Dr. Christine Holt said in a press release,
We are excited about the continued increase in enrollment. This continues the trend from the fall 2023 semester, where our enrollment was up by 9% from the previous year, representing our largest enrollment since 2019.
She went on to say that the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center, said that 2-year college enrollment overall nationally was up 4.4% last year. So that means that UAHT enrollment is above the national average which is great for our area and the university.
Why is Enrollment so Strong at UAHT?
Some of the reasons that the growth of enrollment at UAHT is so strong can be attributed to the university's affordability, time to completion, and an increase in dual enrollment.
UAHT has one of the most affordable tuition and fee rates in the country. Plus most students receive financial aid and/or scholarships. This gives these students the chance for a great higher education with almost no out-of-pocket cost.
UAHT offers certificates that train students for high-paying jobs in a year or less. The dual enrollment programs are amazing at allowing high school students to earn college credits at no cost while still in high school. Helping them get a jump start on their college career.
