Congratulations to The UAHT Collegiate Academies Graduates
The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana is home to two special programs called Hope Collegiate Academy and Arkansas High Collegiate Academy. These programs let students get their high school diploma and an Associate of Arts Degree in General Education at the same time, and it doesn't cost anything extra.
This year marks the fourth group of students to graduate from these programs. In 2024, 23 students graduated from Hope Collegiate Academy and 16 from Arkansas High Collegiate Academy. Since these programs started, 111 students (75 from Hope High School and 36 from Arkansas High School) have graduated with both their high school diploma and associate degree.
Pictured below are the graduates from Arkansas High Collegiate Academy in Texarkana.
Last year, Hope High School and Greenbrier High School tied with the most students in Arkansas graduating with an associate of arts degree. The collegiate academies at UAHT have played a big part in this, making up 22% of all students in Arkansas who graduated high school with an associate of arts degree. This achievement received high praises from Arkansas Department of Education Secretary Jacob Oliva during his visit to UAHT.

These programs are unique in Arkansas because students go to college full-time while still doing activities at their high school. This not only saves students time but money as well. On average, students save $18,980 compared to the cost of the first two years at a public four-year university in Arkansas. All the students who went on to four-year universities received scholarships and started taking junior-level courses.
Many of these students used the Arkansas Transfer Achievement Scholarship to attend the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville at UAHT’s tuition rate. Also, all the students improved their ACT scores from 16 to 19 or higher between 10th and 11th grade. This means they're ready to do well at a four-year university or in a job because they learned how to handle college classes.
A big congratulations to these students for their accomplishments.
