
Scholarship Opportunity Available for Single Parents Attending UAHT
If you are a single parent and are planning to attend the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana this fall, you need to start preparing now for an upcoming scholarship opportunity through the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF).

The organization provides financial assistance and support services to help eligible single parents earn college degrees, certificates, professional licenses, and skilled-trade credentials. The goal is to help parents build a stronger future for themselves and their families while balancing the demands of school, work, and parenting.
Single Parent Scholarship Fund Applications Open August 1
Applications for fall scholarships will be accepted from August 1 through September 1. Both new and returning applicants are encouraged to apply through the ASPSF online application portal before the deadline.
This isn't like traditional scholarships, ASPSF awards can be used for everyday expenses that often create barriers to for people to attain a higher education. Funds can be used to help cover the costs of child care, rent, gas, car repairs, and other necessities.
Scholarship amounts range from $400 for students enrolled in 3 to 5 credit hours to as much as $1,600 for students taking 12 or more credit hours.

More Than Financial Assistance for Single Parents at UAHT
In addition to scholarship funding, recipients may have access to mentoring, tutoring, career guidance, financial planning assistance, and referrals to community resources.
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements related to single-parent status, income, residency, education, and enrollment. Students must be enrolled in at least three college credit hours and pursuing a degree, certificate, professional license, or approved training program.
Fall Classes at UAHT Begin August 19
Registration is currently underway for Summer II and fall classes at UAHT. Summer II classes begin July 6, while fall classes start August 19.
University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs, including transfer pathways, career and technical programs, online courses, and evening classes designed to fit your busy schedule.
