UofA-Texarkana Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Facility Oct. 7
More great news for the Texarkana area as the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana has a special groundbreaking ceremony for their new building on the Texarkana campus.
Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 7 at 3:30 PM.
It's going to be a beauty too! This new building is 14,754 square feet. It will be the home of a few different university programs. According to the press release, this will be where the Secondary Career and Technical Education Center will be located along with the Welding Program and the Arkansas High Collegiate Academy.
Below is a Look at What the Front Lobby Will Look Like
The Secondary Career and Techincal program gives high school juniors and seniors a chance to get college credits while they are still in high school at no charge. The students have the opportunity to get real hands-on training in different fields like welding, industrial maintenance, EMT and more.

The Arkansas High Collegiate Academy is a great program too where Arkansas High School students can earn their high school diploma and their associate degree at the same time.
And a Look at a Classroom
The public is invited to the ceremony at 3501 U of A Way, Texarkana, Arkansas. There will be more parking available with a shuttle service at the Four States Fairgrounds parking lot
Completion of the project is expected in December of 2022 or early 2023.
