The official Christmas season officially begins this Thanksgiving weekend and many of you will begin to decorate your homes with great tidings of joy. Nothing is more joyful than getting the family together and going to a Christmas tree farm to find that perfect tree.

For many, this has become a family tradition but no matter how you feel about it the debate continues every year, real tree or fake tree?

Most people will argue that fake trees have come a long way in looking more natural and they are a lot less messy, with no scratchy pine needles to clean up after the holidays and less of a fire hazard. But you have to admit there is something really special about going to a Christmas tree farm and cutting down your own tree if it's allowed. Many farms provide saws but you might bring one just in case. After all, you don't want to look like Clark Griswold and forget your saw.

One of the most highly-rated and best Christmas Tree Farms every year is in Arkansas at Motley's Christmas Tree Farm in Little Rock. The Motley crew has been spreading Christmas cheer since 1982 at their working farm specializing in Carolina Sapphire, Leyland Cypress, and Fraser Fir.

The best part is you can cut down the tree you select or have them cut it down for you. The Motley's will then shake, bale, supply the tie-down string, and load it up for you.

Motley's Christmas Tree Farm also has something very unique "Living Christmas Trees" that come in potted containers for planting in your yard after the season. While you are there enjoy a free wagon ride into the field to select your tree. Make sure you visit Motley's Fudge Kitchen where you will find over 20 varieties of delicious homemade fudge and tasty candy too.

Looking for decorations? Their gift shop has hand-made wreaths, ornaments, and other delightful gifts for that special person. The kids will enjoy watching the pig races and the various animals on their zoo farm. Motley's also serves up some great food at the Good Eats Cafe and Outdoor Grill.

Oh, I almost forgot the smell of a fresh-cut tree is heavenly compared to a fake tree.
