One of my favorite places to visit this time of the year is Garvan Woodland Gardens "Holiday Lights" in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Garvan Woodland Gardens is a beautiful botanical garden that will come to life beginning on Saturday, November 19, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with over 4 million lights lighting the way over bridges, amazing lighted waterfalls, ponds, and Christmas displays at every turn.

One of the main features of Holiday Lights is the Garden of the Pine Wind, the 50-foot tall Holiday Tree which plays holiday music animated to a light show. This setting reminds me of the huge Christmas tree in the movie, Polar Express.

Traditional holiday scenes and the ever-popular Parterre garden on the Great Lawn or some of my personal favorites. There are so many lights and special effects that flow from the trees as you find yourself immersed in the spirit of the season.

One of my highlights is Anthony's Chapel, an all-natural wood-glass chapel with tall glass windows that overlook the gardens. Standing in this chapel stirs the soul and makes you realize the true meaning of Christmas.

And when you are hungry make sure you stop at the Chipmunk Cafe for some tasty treats and during those cooler nights sit by the open fire pit and sip on some hot chocolate with family and friends.

Garvan Woodland Gardens is a great way to create lasting memories for a lifetime and is most definitely worth the drive no matter where you are from. For those who may not be able to walk the tour golf carts are available to rent.

This will mark the first time since the pandemic that the gardens will be open at night with a full display of lights. Holiday Lights at Garvan Woodland Garden will be open daily and closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas. The best time to go visit is Monday through Thursday, you can expect long lines and lots of people on the weekend.
