Scottie's Grill in Texarkana is getting an early jump start to the summer season with country star Mark Chesnutt in concert this Friday, May 19, 2017 at 7PM.

Chesnutt who's name has been a household name in country music for years. Having had 14 No. 1 hit singles, 23 top ten singles, four platinum albums and four gold records, there's a reason why he's still around and touring. With an unmistakable voice, anytime one of his songs came on the radio you knew who you were listening to. Unlike so many country artists today, who all sound alike. Steeped in the traditional country sound such as George Strait, Waylon Jennings, George Jones, Mark carved a niche in the country music industry when the format was at it's peak in the 90s. Years later Chesnutt continues to evolve and change with today's country sound but stays close to his traditional musical roots.

Some of my personal Mark Chesnutt favorites include, "Bubba Shot The Jukebox," Too Cold at Home," "I'll Think Something," "Almost Goodbye," "Blame It On Texas," just to name a few.

The love of country music and the fans is what continues to drive this Beaumont, Texas native to keep slinging his guitar and singing. Chesnutt has a new album out named Tradition Lives and an album Mark Chesnutt Duets which are both available for purchase at his website.

Texarkana's Dusty Rose Band opens for Mark Chesnutt on Friday night. Get your tickets now at Scottie's Grill.
