Credit Card Skimmers Found on a Couple of Gas Pumps in Texarkana
Texarkana Texas Police say credit card skimmers were found recently on a couple of gas pumps at a convenience store in Texarkana.
According to Texas side Police on their Facebook page, they say credit card skimmers were discovered on two gas pumps at a convenience store on New Boston Road. There was nothing on the outside of the pumps that might have tipped anyone off that they were there - and they may well have been there for a couple of weeks.
Police say as a result, it is possible that many people who used these pumps had their credit card information compromised without having a clue it was happening. At this point, there's no way of knowing.
Authorities advise that this is yet another example of why it is critically important that you keep a really close watch on all your credit card and bank accounts.
They advise to set it up where you automatically get a notification when your card number is used. Check your accounts daily and immediately report any unauthorized purchases or suspicious activity to your financial institution.
The investigation into this crime is continuing. If you have any information on this you are asked to contact Texarkana Texas Police, at 903-798-3116 or Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.
