We've been waiting for this. Who doesn't want or need a free tree? It's almost time for the annual Arbor Day Tree Giveaway in Texarkana.

 

The City of Texarkana, Texas has once again partnered up with the Texas A&M Forestry Service to hand out free trees. These trees are either native or adaptable to our climate in North East Texas and Southwest Arkansas.

The Types of Trees That Will Be Given Away Will Include:

Bike To Work Group Members Conduct Tree Planting Program

Shumard oak, bald cypress, silky dogwood, water oak, and sawtooth oak

This is always a big tree giveaway with more than 1,000 bare root seedlings that they are planning on handing out.

When And Where Is The Arbor Day Tree Giveaway?

The event will be on Saturday, March 5 at Spring Lake Park located at 4303 North Park Road in Texarkana Texas. The giveaway will take place across from the Rotary Splash Pad. It all begins at 9AM and will go on until all the trees are gone.

This event is huge! It's very popular so get there early. To get in line you must enter from Mall Drive and then be sure to stay in your car. The volunteers will bring the trees to you.
