The Texarkana, Arkansas Fire Department responded to six dumpster fires at the Links Apartments at 333 Links Drive since July 28, 2017.

Five of those fires were at the same dumpster.  Dumpster fires are some of the more dangerous types of fires encountered by firefighters. This is due to the nature of the items disposed of in a dumpster. Due to this, firefighters tasked with extinguishing the dumpster fire are at a high risk of serious physical harm.

According to a press release, Stephen Johnson, Fire Marshal, conducted a surveillance operation on the evening of Sept. 6, and observed the dumpster being set on fire at approximately 8PM by Brandon Wright, a 30-year-old resident of the apartment complex.  Mr. Wright was taken into custody without incident and arrested for Arson by the Fire Marshal.  He was transported to the Miller County Detention Facility.
