Salvation Army Annual Gladys Morris Stone Soup Luncheon April 23

Spring weather always reminds me that The Salvation Army Annual "Gladys Morris" Stone Soup Luncheon is just around the corner. The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary is buzzing with excitement in preparation for this event. This year the event will be held on Thursday, April 23, from 11 a.m. to  1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church located at 400 E. 6th Street Texarkana, Ark.

Tickets can be purchased for $10 apiece and will include a delicious taco soup, salad, Texas toast, dessert and drink. Take outs will also be available. Tickets may be purchased from any Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary member or at their administrative office located at 400 E. 4th Street.

All proceeds from this event will go to sponsor community children at the church summer camp, The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Texarkana which offers quality after school programs to children in our community and to our Center Of Hope Homeless Shelter. The Center of Hope is the only shelter in Texarkana with apartment style dormitories and facilities adequate to accommodate children and families. The Center also provides three meals a day served to Center of Hope residents, and two meals a day to the general public. Food boxes also are distributed to families in crisis.
