All police officers should wear protection. That includes the K9 unit as well. The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department announced on their Facebook page that one such member of their K9 unit Kashko will be getting a vest that will protect him from bullet and stab wounds.

Texarkana Police Department’s K9 Kashko will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Kashko’s vest will be embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of K9 Gabo, Jonesboro, AR EOW 1/16/20”. Delivery is expected within eight to ten weeks.

The post goes on to say that the non-profit company, Vested Interest in K9s has provided these custom made vests for over 3,500 police dogs throughout the country. The cost of the vests are covered by private and corporate donations.
