Memorial Day weekend is this weekend! It is the unofficial kick-off for the summer fun and vacation time. But more importantly, on Monday, May 26, is Memorial Day. As you celebrate a long weekend in Texarkana with friends and family, this is also the time to remember the service men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice and died while protecting our country and our rights as Americans.

There are a few Memorial Day services and events that will honor our heroes. If you have a chance, please take the time to go to one of these services

CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital on Thursday, May 22, 9 AM

CHRISTUS St. Michael will have a ceremony and blessing of the “Missing Man” table to honor veterans at 9 AM on Thursday, May 22. The table will be located in the front lobby through Monday, May 26, Memorial Day. Items set on the table will represent our emotions and feelings reserved for our veterans who are missing or were killed in action.

Memorial Day Service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Texarkana on Sunday, May 25

On Sunday, May 25, you can join the Vietnam Veterans of America #278's Memorial Day Service. This event is taking place at the Hillcrest Cemetery at 2 PM, located at 5105 West 7th Street in Texarkana, Texas.

Memorial Day Service Downtown Texarkana on Monday, May 26

The Texarkana Area Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America will host the 42nd annual Memorial Day Service. The service will start at 11:45 AM on Monday, May 26, at the Korea-Vietnam Memorial, located at West Seventh Street and State Line Avenue.

Elks Lodge in Texarkana Honoring Our Heroes Monday, May 26

The Elks Lodge 2771 will kick off summer and honor our heroes on Monday from 4 PM to 8 PM with free Burgers & Hot Dogs and music. The Elks Texas Lodge No. 2771 3702 is located on New Boston Road in Texarkana, Texas.
