Texarkana Texas Police are investigating what appears to be a shooting in self-defense that occurred this morning in a Texarkana apartment complex parking lot.

In a release posted on the TTPD Facebook Page this morning, Texarkana Texas Police are currently investigating a shooting that happened around 6:30 AM in the Creekside Apartments parking lot.

According to the report, an unnamed woman was approaching her car about to head to work when she noticed that her former boyfriend, Brandon Webb, was standing nearby across the parking lot. The woman stated she tried to get in her car before he could get to her, but he managed to push the door back open. Webb reportedly argued with the woman and then attacked her in the vehicle, trying to shave her head with a pair of electric clippers. During the attack, she managed to obtain her pistol from the console of the vehicle and was able to fire one shot in his direction.

The report went on to say;

She believed (the bullet) hit him because he fell several times as he tried to run away. She immediately called 911. Webb was found several minutes later by Texarkana Texas firefighters after he came out from his hiding place in an enclosed patio behind a nearby apartment building and started yelling for help. He had been shot once in the torso and was transported to Christus St. Michael Hospital, where he underwent surgery to remove the bullet. Webb's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Detective Alan Bailey quickly determined through the investigation that Webb was the aggressor in the incident and that the woman was acting strictly in self-defense. The Detective obtained felony warrants for Stalking and Aggravated Assault for Webb, as soon as he is released from the hospital he will be arrested on those warrants, as well as three previous felony probation revocation warrants.

No charges are expected to be filed against the woman acting in self-defense.
