Time To ‘Toss The Cheese’ – Texas and Arkansas Aldi’s Recall Cream Cheeses
There's not much tastier than a big gob of cream cheese on a bagel, biscuit, or a piece of toast, however, this gob can bite you back and it needs to go. Just barely open with the new location in Texarkana, Texas and a cream cheese recall is already underway from Aldi stores all over Texas, Arkansas, and 28 other states.
The cream cheese products affected could be contaminated with salmonella so this is a pretty serious recall. Aldi stores, in collaboration with Schreiber Foods, Inc., is issuing a recall for its Happy Farms Whipped Cream Cheese Spread, Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread, Cream Cheese Spread, and Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread products.
The recall is being conducted out of an abundance of caution due to potential salmonella contamination. The recalled products were available at select ALDI stores in the following states:
Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
ALDI states that the safety and integrity of their products are their top priority. Customers who have purchased the affected products are advised to dispose of them immediately or return them to their local ALDI store for a full refund.
