
Texarkana Texas Police Seeking Man Wanted in Hit-and-Run Crash
The Texarkana Texas Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted in connection with a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a woman late last month.
Suspect Identified in December Hit-and-Run in Texarkana
Police say 36-year-old Zachary Sanders, who also goes by Zachary Upchurch, is wanted for Leaving the Scene of a Collision Involving Personal Injury following a crash on North Stateline Avenue on December 28. 2025
According to investigators, a woman was struck by a vehicle and suffered serious injuries. Thankfully, police say her injuries were not life-threatening.
TTPD Say Driver Fled After Stopping
Officers say Sanders initially stopped after the crash and got out of his vehicle to check on the victim. However, police allege he then returned to his car and fled the scene.
During the investigation, Sanders was identified as the driver involved in the collision.
Alleged Attempt to Mislead 911 Dispatchers - He Went That-A-Way!
Police say Sanders had multiple outstanding warrants in both Texas and Arkansas at the time, which may have contributed to his decision to flee the scene.
Police also allege Sanders called 911 after leaving the scene in an apparent attempt to mislead officers. They said he told dispatchers he was chasing the suspect vehicle and reported traveling in the opposite direction of his actual location. Dispatchers reportedly noted the phone’s location did not match the information provided. Nice try.
Vehicle Found, Suspect Still At Large
Sanders’ damaged vehicle was later located at a residence in Miller County, Arkansas, but as of this writing, he remains at large.
