Goodbye to you Bigfoot folks, it was a fun time in Jefferson, Texas last weekend for the 2024 Texas Bigfoot Conference. The turn-out this year was amazing with some great guests and terrific presentations.

My wife Donna and I attended the conference this year, a first for both of us, but we had a great time. The funny thing is, my wife thought I was getting bored during Dr. Meldrum's presentation and nothing could be further from the truth. Yes, I was squirming pretty badly there for a while, but I was fascinated with all the science he brings to the current search for what Bigfoot is, not "IF" Bigfoot is, but, what it is. My squirming was due to my aged tushy complaining about the lack of cushioning on those chairs. I had to get up off of it for a few minutes. Butt... I survived.

It's always fun to meet the guests up close and personal at these conferences and conventions, people like Dr. Meldrum, Lyle Blackburn, and Ken Gerhard, who you have seen on TV for years are right there signing autographs and taking pictures with goofy people like me.

Yes, Donna and I were wearing matching shirts, ain't we cute!

There were some excellent presentations throughout the day, we missed most of them unfortunately, but we did catch Lyle Blackburn talking about the Lake Worth Monster,  and the keynote address from Dr. Meldrum.

It's Science!

Dr. Meldrum brought his College Professor, PHD-chops to the Bigfoot discussion honing in on the most famous of all Bigfoot evidence, the Patterson-Gimlin, 16mm film from 1967. I know many of you might still believe that was a man in a monkey suit, and while I had my doubts about it, after watching Meldrum's presentation, there's no question it was not a dude in a costume. What it was has yet to be completely defined by science, but the word "Bigfoot" works just fine for most of us. After all, Patty's footprints were all over that creek, and at 15.5 inches, that makes Patty about 6'8" tall and approximately 35" across the shoulders according to Dr Meldrum. Patty was a big strong girl.

The video above is the same one Dr. Meldrum used in his presentation, the most recent compilation of recovered first-generation copies of the original which has been lost for many years. Digitally remastered as best they can to get it as close to the original 16mm film quality as possible.
