The quest for the Kicker Cup continues and after week eight is done the winner is almost a done deal. Mathematically, Arkansas High is still in the running...

Liberty Eylau has three games left and can still make the playoffs, but their record is 0/7 and they don't have enough games left to have a shot at the Kicker Cup.

Texas High got a win over Sherman last Friday bringing their record to 4/4, but with only two games left in the regular season, T-High has been mathematically eliminated from a chance at the Kicker Cup this year.

Arkansas High is 4-2 with three games remaining on their schedule. So, with a bunch of help from PG, they are still in the running for the Kicker Cup.

PG is holding firmly on to the lead with their 7/1 record with two games left to play. The odds-makers say they will most likely win them both, but you never know.

The Kicker Cup is great big pretty cup to put in the trophy case, but we know and recognise the most important thing for our local teams is to win as much in District competition as they can so they can make the playoffs and go as far as they can go. We wish them all lots of luck and good health heading toward the third part of the season.

History of the Kicker Cup:

For the last 22 years, Kicker 102.5 along with Red River Credit Union have partnered to bring you the huge travelling trophy known as the Kicker Cup to our local Texarkana high schools. As we enter year 23 the winner, as always, is determined by which team has the best overall winning record at the end of the regular football season.

The trophy will be presented during a pep rally at the end of the regular season to the local Texarkana team that has the best regular-season record. Who will it be for 2019? Check back here each week to see the updates!
