Here Are 9 Safety Tips For Heating Your House This Winter
-Keep anything that can burn at least 3 feet from all heat sources. This includes fireplaces, wood stoves, radiators, space heaters or candles.
-Never use an oven or stovetop to heat your home.
-Don't leave space heaters unattended. Turn them of if you are leaving the room or going to bed.
-Only plug one heat source into an electrical plug.
-Do not use an extension cord with a space heater. That cord could get very hot and cause a fire.
-Put a screen around an open flame. Never leave a fire burning in the fireplace unattended.
-Never use gasoline to start your fireplace.
-Maintain your equipment and chimney by having them cleaned and inspected every year by a professional.
