Mario’s Weekend Movie Roundup for Sept. 13

Not much happening at the box office this weekend. There are only two new movies to choose from.

Hustlers  (R)

This is about a group of New York strippers who scam a bunch of men who make their living working on Wall Street. Constance Wu is the team leader, Jennifer Lopez is her mentor and Keke Palmer and Lili Reinhart are the other hustlers. Julia Stiles plays a journalist who interviews them after they get caught. Cardi B and Lizzo also play strippers while Usher has a cameo appearance as himself.

The Goldfinch  (R)

Based on a Puitzer Prize winning novel, this story is about a mother killed in a bombing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the only thing her 13-year-old has to remember her by is her favorite painting, which was stolen from the museum the day she died. Oakes Fegley plays the younger version and Finn Wolfhard plays his friend in flashbacks. This movie also stars, Nicole Kidman, Lule Wilson, Jeffrey Wright and Sarah Paulson.
